About Apex Softwash
Apex Softwash is a specialist softwash roof cleaning company. We aim to do one thing well, which is to clean roofs without damaging them, because a gentle clean also lasts longer.
What makes us different
Roof cleaning attracts plenty of opportunists, such as handymen with a pressure washer. We focus on the work instead of treating it as a side service. However, a good roof clean depends on knowing the roof, so we pay attention to the following.
- Low-pressure biocide application with chemistry that suits the tile
- Safe working at height
- Tile type, such as clay, concrete, slate or fibre cement
- How moss, algae and lichen grow, so we treat the cause and not just the symptom
- Photos of the roof before and after the job
Our method
We do not pressure wash tiled roofs, because a strong jet can damage the tile surface. It can also loosen ridge mortar and push water under the tiles. In addition, it removes only the moss you can see, so spores stay behind and regrow.
Instead, we apply a professional biocide at low pressure. The biocide kills moss, algae and lichen where they grow. As a result, rain rinses the dead growth away over the following weeks, while our 5-year regrowth protection guarantee backs the result.
If you would like the detail, read our comparison of softwash and pressure washing. You can also see how we handle softwash roof cleaning from start to finish, since the steps matter as much as the chemistry.
Working practices
We follow the HSE rules for working at height. Because every roof differs, we also plan access and safety before we start. Documentation for any of this is available on request before you book.
Where we work
Apex Softwash currently focuses on the South East of England. We cover Kent, Surrey, East Sussex and West Sussex, and you can see our current coverage town by town. We hope to serve more of the UK in future, although we have no dates yet.
How to get in touch
We deal with enquiries through our online form, so there is no phone line to wait on. First, send us your postcode and a short description of the roof, because that lets us price it properly. You can start on the free quote page.
