Because the quote comes from what you tell us, the more detail you give, the closer it is to the final job. If something looks different on the day, we will talk to you before we change anything. This keeps the process fair, because you always know what you are agreeing to.

What to include in your request

Start with your postcode and the type of property. Then describe what you see on the roof. Moss looks like thick green cushions, while algae shows as dark streaks and lichen forms rough, crusty patches.

Also mention anything that could affect access, such as a steep pitch, a conservatory roof or overhanging trees. However, you do not need to be an expert. A short, honest description is enough to begin.

What to put in your message

The message box is where you describe the roof, because the form has no place to attach files. Say what the tiles are, such as clay, concrete or slate, and give a rough size, for example a two-bedroom semi or a large detached house. Then tell us how much moss you can see, from a few patches to whole slopes.

Also mention how we would reach the roof and anything unusual, such as a conservatory, a chimney or tall trees nearby. If we need photos to price the job, we will ask for them when we reply. Meanwhile, never climb onto the roof or lean from a ladder to look closer.

What happens after you send the form

First, we read your request. Then we send a reply with a price and any questions. If you agree, we book a date together, while we explain what to expect on the day. The timescale depends on the season, so we cannot give one figure for every job.
